Affirmations are a powerful and easy way to effect positive change in your life. In my childbirth classes, we talk about staying in a positive state of mind. This is SO important because what you focus on expands meaning that if you focus on all of the bad stuff, you will get more bad stuff but if you focus on all of the good stuff, you will get more good stuff. Now who doesn’t want more good stuff!

 

Affirmations are also VERY easy to do. You can literally listen to them anytime and anywhere: in your car, in the shower, while you are working or as you drift off to sleep. Even if you are not consciously listening, your subconscious mind is still getting and understanding everything! That being said, there are several “levels” of listening to affirmations. They all work beautifully and like I said, however you listen to them, they will help you stay in a positive frame of mind (which is even more important during pregnancy).

The first level is to just have the affirmation playing in the background. Your subconscious mind is still getting and understanding everything.

The next level is to listen to them, either out loud or with headphones on (but no headphones in the car) and then repeat them to your self in your mind.

The most powerful level to do affirmations is to listen to them, either out loud or with headphones on (but no headphones in the car) and then repeat them OUT LOUD with your hand on your heart or your belly. This way you are hearing the voice, then hearing your voice and feeling how they resonate with you.  Remember the more scenes you can involve, the more powerful they will be.
