Our healing calendula salves are made with a coconut and olive oil base (which alone has amazing healing properties) infused with calendula, comfrey, and lavender. Organic bees wax is added to harden this beautiful oil*. All of our ingredients are certified organic so it’s safe for external uses on mom and baby. With each order you get 2 – 2 oz tins; one for home and one for the diaper bag. Our calendula salve can be wonderful for cesarean and surgical scars, diaper rash, little kids bumps and scrapes or, for general healing and skin-care.
Calendula is known for its amazing anti-inflammatory properties. It can be very helpful with minor topical wounds such as diaper rash, rashes, ezema, and general cuts and scrapes. Calendula is known as a Antispasmodic, astringent,1,2 cholagogue, diaphorhetic, vulnerary,3,4 lymphatic, emmenagogue, cholagogue, hepatic5. Persons with allergies to other members of the Asteraceae family (such as feverfew, chamomile, or Echinacea species) should exercise caution with calendula, as allergic cross-reactivity to Asteraceae plants is common.
Lavender is know world wide for it’s calming smell and stress-reliving properties but it is also a wonderful healing plant. It is a very powerful antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and disinfectant.
Comfrey leaf is the lesser know herb of our trio. There has been a little misunderstanding with this herb. It is not intended for internal uses (according to the FDA) and the roots are not considered safe. The leafs are know to help with heals wounds, cuts, burns, bruises, itches, and most skin problems6.
